Ewen, MI to Newberry Schools in Newberry, MI

Far and windy. I slugged through all of today. We started on a beautiful bicycle path along Lake Superior. I adventured a little further, taking a crushed limestone bicycle path paralleling M28, the roadway we traveled most of today. Back on route I was thankful for every rest stop. I just didn't have the strength and comfort of days gone by. My butt was easily sore and the wind didn't let up very often. I only saw William a few times and kept up with him for only short whiles. Already after 100km I was sick of my seat. I stood up for bits and pieces then mostly rode standing up from 130km and on.
At sag stops I got myself some food and moved on. Today was not a day I spent pleasantly but rather a day I endured. My knees are reminding me of how hard I pushed to keep going. Today was the second over 100mile ride of this week, that means back to back centuries. Tomorrow with a distance of just over 100km will be a hopeful recovering day before building up to another imperial century this Saturday.
Today strongly reminds me why I'm riding. I realize I could ride on a van, but cycling is nearly my only way to get to the next destination, and I have to get to that next destination by supper time. Everyday I decide to endure that day wether good or bad, it's mostly how long it'll take me to get there. I can't eliminate that I'll spend over 4hours on my bicycle everyday (except Sunday). Today wasn't vacation, it felt like a necessary mission.
