Granum, AB to Taber Christian School in Taber, AB
Oh boy, breakfast was good! The CRC of Granum went all out on buttermilk pancakes, eggs, bacon, quality cheddar cheese blocks, and fruit. I had three pancakes, two helpings of eggs, about eight strips of bacon, and four blocks of cheese. I was stuffed!
At about 28km we came to our second rest stop at Nobleford CRC. They had warm cinnamon rolls on which you could slather on loads of creamy white frosting. I started off at one, but on seconds I was convinced to have two more! I was keeping myself stuffed... At about 64km there were free donuts and then at 68km we had lunch! Picture Butte CRC hosted us to warm back up after light showers of rain. I was not able to completely finish my sandwich. Later on the ride I realized that I'm eating too much and not drinking enough, it's causing me tiredness and headaches. I drank up at the next rest stop and felt much better. Seven Eleven specially featured free Slurpees for July 7 today. I tried two new flavors: Mountain Dew Mango Fire and a banana soda flavor.
At Taber Christian tonight we are staying in comfort. We can sleep inside and put our bikes inside. Taber CRC provided a pig roast dinner for Sea to Sea and their church congregation. There was even ice cream cone dessert!!
Caleb and I found a rad skatepark thanks to Brian Kuyper, the local pastor of Taber and a rider on Sea to Sea. I successfully dropped into a bowl with my mini board and saw an 11year old outskate everyone at the park.
All in all, the day was well blessed with good and the plains of Canada are getting windy. Distance no longer has a strong determination of day length, rather the wind plays all the cards.
Time: 5hr 8min
Trip: 128.4km
Avg: 24.9km/hr
Max: 54.6km/hr
