Yorkton, SK to Russell Peace Park Campground in Russell, MB

I stayed warm enough last night! The hammock the two nights before wasn't warm enough but the ground worked. I slept that little bit better and slept in till 6:23am. Breakfast had already started, I missed all the hot poorage and the cereals that I prefer. I skimped on breakfast and felt it slightly on my ride. Thankfully I was helped out from kilometre thirty to fiftyseven. Kilometre fiftyseven was our lunch stop at Trinity Lutheran Church of Churchbridge. I ate well of sandwiches, muffins, and watermelon. I felt more energy and a better mood for the rest of the ride. William and I finished the day up with rootbeer from A&W.
Camp is a pleasant park but with a short walk to the washrooms. Supper was provided by Russell Alliance Church which also provided ice cream for dessert!
The upcoming youth pastor, Caleb, happened to be into skateboarding and longboarding. He's got some great upcoming teen ministries and skating is his way to hang with the kids. I happened to break the tail on my mini board two days ago and have been looking for an old board to resolve the mini board situation. He was able to get an old skate deck gathering cobwebs for me. It's looking to work out plenty well and I hope to try it in the next skatepark!

A day to savour. Riders are more relaxed now that your days are winding down and the ride distances are shortening even by just a few kilometres. It's strange how 20km less per day, about an hour of riding lessons per day, makes us feel like the day's are so much shorter. My group stayed ahead of me all day which was quite alright as I took it easy. The morning fog made for a cool by special morning. I rode primarily with no hands for the first 45km so I could sit up and take it easy. The parrelling of the Saumon River ensured a pleasant sight and a slight downhill over the day. In camp tonight we are at the foot of a ski hill. Sugarloaf Provincial Park sounds awesome as it has camping, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, tennis, and day use areas. Bathurst, NB to Daigle Daigle Park Campground in Saint-Louis, NB

I made many stops today. There were numerous unmaintained of completely abandoned homes and buildings to be seen today. My first spark for looking into abandoned places was on the south side of Bathurst. I didn't know it's name at the time but I saw the left over concrete from the power and paper mill. I began to notice homes along the secondary road 134 that had been abandoned. In the pictures you'll hear more of their stories. Besides the buildings I took interest in, the day faired well. The hills and bumps of the road were worse in the morning and smoothed out after Miramichi, roughly half way. Tomorrow is our longer day of the week but I really don't have much of worries. I pray for favorable wind and good sights. I plan on handing out many many Sea to Sea cards and stickers tomorrow. Only four more riding days left! Sault Ste Marie, MI to the Marina of Blind River, Ontario

A mix of a day. I slept poorly overnight as I got cold. I endured through it till I had to get up for breakfast set up. I think I was actually in a good mood and I was relaxed. All of Sea to Sea had to meet about 3km from camp at Lake Superior State University to bunch up for the border crossing. The crossing into Canada was neat over two long Bridges and the smoothest border crossing I've ever had by bike! I was asked where I was from and if I was quote, "having a good run," while he scanned my passport. After the border crossing I slowly fell behind William, Caleb, and Frank. By the time we got to the first rest stop at around 36km, I was barely holding 18km/hr. I felt drained with no motivation to bike. My one reason to bike was for the commitment I made to those who donated. It's my commitment to make it across the country by bicycle. After this rest stop I felt behind once again.
