Summerland, BC to Vernon Christian School in Vernon, BC

Saturday, July 1st was Canada Day. To make the day extra special all us cyclists were given Canadian 150year birthday jerseys. As a few Canadians said about the Americans, "I've never seen you Americans look so good!"
We rode along many lakes like the Okanagan, Kalamalka, and Swan Lake. The sights encapsulated quite the experience. We could constantly guage our elevation change by the water level. When the day started we had to climb up from the lake.
As we came to the city of Peachland we had to stay on the highway rather than passing into town. Due to high water levels the lake side road was flooded, as well as Canada events were going on. My highlight came as William and I stopped at the Peachland Skatepark so I could bike through a few times! Then in Kelowna was another skate park which I was also excited to roll through.
Kelowna CRC fed us a hearty lunch of sandwiches with variety of meat and cheese, fruits, veges, dessert, and the essential strong coffee. As being a hot and longish day this stop was well appreciated. By the time William and I made it to Vernon we made sure to stop for Iced Cappuccinos at Tim Hortons.

Time: 5hr 22min
Trip: 115km
Avg: 21.3km/hr
Max: 75.4km/hr

This last picture is to emphasize the truer Sea to Sea experience. I want you all to see us tired, stopping at the top of a hill just as much for rest as for a view. William stands on the left on the phone with his wife dealing trouble back home.  This experience isn't perfect and it's not all an escape. We are riding with a mission, a mission to end poverty. Every person that learns about why we are riding brings more hope to our mission.
